General Expectations

  1. Interfaces and develops relationships with owners, architects, engineers, design professionals, and municipalities to ensure design intent is satisfied

  2. Coordinates, understands, and enforces subcontractor assignments and scopes of work

  3. Provides lead on productivity issues and monitors work performance based on project requirements

  4. Ability to read and understand project documents (project drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports)

  5. Has clear knowledge and understanding of challenges working in dynamic work environment at multi-family and commercial projects

  6. Develop site utilization plans based on project specific conditions

  7. Expected to thoroughly review and ID issues with project documents and advise on solutions with senior level management

  8. Provide leadership role with Project Managers in managing project costs

  9. Responsible for keeping site trailers clean and understands importance of setting high standards for entire project with respect to housekeeping

  10. Major contributor in developing McGann field staff and being an advocate for improving our overall competency as a firm

  11. Physical demands include ability to navigate construction jobsites and occasionally assist with lifting materials and/or products within reason

  12. Provide lead role in project close-out, including commissioning and owner training

Document Control

  1. Maintains accurate contract documents and demonstrates competency in the following areas;

    • Proficient in filing and posting  RFI’s, Construction Bulletins, & applicable changes to maintain accurate contract drawings thru-out the project, not at the end

    • Creates accurate and inclusive daily logs electronically

    • Manages and submits McGann labor timecards as required

    • Ensures we are filing submittals, contracts, and other applicable documents per company expectations and file structure

  2. Identifies issues in timely manner within project documents and follows up with technical writing and then submits RFI’s in proper fashion

  3. Ensures punch lists are developed, completed, filed, and disseminated per company expectations for all trades in conjunction with supplementary McGann staff

Safety

  1. Ensure implementation of McGann Safety Program for a safe and healthy work environment at site

  2. Work with Operations Manager, Safety Director, and other McGann staff to adhere to all applicable OSHA regulations

  3. Responsible for ensuring accident reports, weekly toolbox talks, and all other applicable forms completed as directed

  4. Conduct safety orientations for McGann employees and subcontractors

Submittals

  1. Responsible for accurate review and approval of all shop drawings and submittals

Technology

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, & Project

  2. Willingness to continue to develop and use technology as a tool in managing projects

schedules

  1. Will develop, maintain, and disseminate all required schedules, including 3-Week Look Aheads on bi-weekly basis and Microsoft Project Schedules on monthly basis

  2. Provide and communicate schedules to all pertinent parties as part of bi-weekly or weekly foreman’s meetings

  3. Responsible for scheduling all deliveries and inspections

  4. Expected to provide sufficient advanced notice to operations manager for labor requests

  5. Coordinate all labor, material, & equipment needs in timely manner in conjunction with secondary superintendent based upon each project

Meetings

  1. Attend and contribute at pre-construction meetings with Project Manager and Owners

  2. Develops and conducts inclusive agendas for weekly or bi-weekly foremen meetings, followed by accurate documentation of meeting minutes and disbursement via email to applicable parties

Carpenter

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SIDING

  1. Must display experience & competency installing a range of siding materials, with emphasis on Cement Board & LP Siding

  2. Ensures that substrate is acceptable prior to installation of siding materials

  3. Measure, cut, trim & install siding per manufacturers recommendations for weather tight install

  4. Cut, bend, break sheet metal flashings at openings and decks

  5. Proficiency in caulking for clean watertight application

  6. Install soffit and fascia panels/boards

  7. Familiar with use of all tools needed, such as hand tools, saws, & nailers

  8. Ability, experience, & training to safely operate man-baskets and all-terrain forklifts

  9. Performs all and any other duties as assigned safely and effectively

FINISH TRIM CARPENTRY

  1. Has thorough knowledge and experience installing wood or composite finishes on interior of buildings

  2. Measure, cut, & install, with precision, a wide range of items associated with finish carpentry materials, including, but not limited to:

    • Baseboard

    • Casing

    • Doors

    • Crown moldings

    • Shelving components

  3. Read, interpret, & install cabinets per approved shop drawings / plans

  4. Install doors for proper alignments and functionality

  5. Install door & cabinet hardware, along with bath accessories

  6. Install stair stringers, handrails, & balusters for tight fit

  7. Demonstrate mathematical competency necessary for tasks, along with problem solving skills to overcome any unforeseen challenges

  8. Utilize hand and power tools for tight, clean, aesthetically appealing installations

  9. Has physical stamina to complete work

  10. Performs all and any other duties as assigned safely and effectively

 

ROUGH CARPENTRY

  1. Construct & erects main wood building structure, inclusive of walls, floors, stairs, roofs, decks, & associated fasteners & hangers

  2. Install exterior doors & windows within specified tolerances for smooth operation

  3. Install temporary railings & enclosures as needed

  4. Understands how to properly use all necessary hand and power tools for rough carpentry tasks

  5. Ensures that all installed components are plumb, level, & within necessary tolerances

  6. Competent in use of ladders, scaffolding, hand & power tools

  7. Ability, experience, & training to safely operate man-baskets and all-terrain forklifts

  8. Performs all and any other duties as assigned safely and effectively
