Pre-Construction Planning

McGann is highly regarded for its ability to work with owners and design professionals at the earliest stages of a project. We welcome the opportunity to assist in feasibility studies, conceptual cost estimates and value engineering to provide the owner and design group with a realistic assessment of cost.

We have a great deal of historical data along with many current projects that also to bring creditable estimates and budgets to an owner. This experience is invaluable to owners who need an accurate number for financing, but can not expend resources early on.

Quality Control

McGann feels organization and communication are two keys that keep projects running smoothly and efficiently. Listed below are some of the details that we implement to ensure quality control:

  • Detailed review of plans/specifications
  • Submittals received by McGann Construction from the subcontractors and suppliers
  • Review of the submittals to comply with specifications by the project manager
  • Review and verification of the submittals by the on-site superintendent
  • Daily on-site inspections performed by the superintendent
  • Daily briefings from superintendent to subcontractors
  • Daily communications from the on-site superintendent to the director of field operations
  • Daily communications between the superintendent to the project manager
  • Communication to architect via R.F.I.'s
  • Weekly job site visits from the project manager
  • Weekly quality control inspections performed by the director of field operations
  • Daily job site cleaning

  • Substantial completion prior to specified date

Construction Management

McGann employs a well designed planning approach to construction management. This planning incorporates all aspects of pre-construction, bidding, construction and post-construction details along with quality control. We call upon our experienced project managers and general field superintendent to follow this method and develop a plan to make sure the project is completed as efficiently and cost effective as possible.


We have found that our clients respect our approach to a clean and safe job site. They also appreciate the manner in which we organize and manage the bid process. The owner has total access and open communication is a given.

Recently we have added outreach and workforce development hiring to our construction management services. We have gained valuable experience with recent projects that have required outreach planning along with coordinating job fairs. We have successfully assisted owners seeking grants tied to energy.

Design Build

With the many outstanding relationships we have with design firms in Wisconsin, the design-build delivery method is a natural for McGann. A primary objective is selecting the proper design professional who will bring a high level of expertise and experience to your project.

Once the team is set, we can develop all the necessary project information that will be critical to you the owner. We will develop schedules, provide value engineering throughout, review subcontractor selections and keep you informed from the initial design to occupancy.
